Advertisement for District/Divisional/UT Cadre posts of various Indenting Department under provisions of the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services – Decentralization and Recruitment Act, 2010 and rules made thereunder read with other relevant rules governing the subject.

(1) Appointment of the candidates:
i. The Appointment and other service conditions in respect of the candidate selected through this selection process, shall be governed by the provisions of the Jammu & Kashmir Probationer (Condition of Services, Pay & Allowances) and Fixation of Tenure Rules, 2020, notified vide S.O 192 dated 17th of June 2020.
ii. The reservation under this Advertisement Notification shall be applicable in accordance with the provisions of the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Rules notified vide SRO 294 dated 21-10-2005 read with SO 127 of 2020 dated 20.04.2020.
(2) Domicile: -
The candidate should be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The candidate must possess Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on the format prescribed for the purpose, on or before the last date of submission of online application form.
(8) Application Fee:
(I) (a) For posts involving two stage examination:
i) Junior Scale Stenographer
ii) Junior Assistant
iii) Assistant Superintendent Jails.
Fee payable: Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for General Category etc. and Rs.400/-(Rupees Four Hundred only) for SC,ST,PWD & EWS Categories.
(b) For posts involving single stage examination:
i) Assistant Scientific Officer, Narcotics
ii) Assistant Scientific Officer, Chemistry and Toxicology

Who Can Apply?
• Junior Scale Stenographer/Junior Stenographer: Graduation + Candidates applying against the post of Junior Scale Stenographer/Junior Stenographer must have minimum speed of 65 and 35 words per minute in shorthand and type writing respectively.
Criteria For Selection:
Skill Test = 40 points Written Examination/CBT =60 points (The marks obtained in the Skill Test shall be proportionately allotted against 40 points earmarked for the Skill Test)
• Junior Assistant: Graduation + Candidates applying against the post of Junior Assistant must have knowledge of type writing with not less than 35 words speed per minute.
Criteria For Selection:
Skill Test = 20 points Written Examination/CBT =80 points (The marks obtained in the Type Test shall be proportionately allotted against 20 points earmarked for the Type Test)
Only those candidates who achieve an accuracy of 90% or above and a typing speed of minimum 35 words per minute shall be considered qualified for next stage(s).
• Assistant Superintendent Jails:
i) Graduation from a recognized university and Post Graduate diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminology.
ii) Physical Standard: Male Minimum Height 5' -6" Minimum Chest 32"- 331/2 Female Minimum Height 5' -2" Physically Fit
Criteria For Selection:
The candidate shall have to qualify Physical Standard Test. The selection for the post shall be made on the basis of merit obtained in written examination only.
• Assistant Scientific Officer, Narcotics, Chemistry and Toxicology: Masters in Chemistry/Biochemistry/ Pharmacology /Forensic Science with Minimum 50% marks from any University recognized by the UGC.
Criteria For Selection: The selection for the post shall be made on the basis of merit obtained in written examination only.
• Assistant Scientific Officer DNA, Biology/Serology:
Masters Degree in Zoology/Botany/ Microbiology/Biotechnology/BioChemistry/Life Assistant Scientific Officer,DNA Science/ Genetics/Molecular Biology/ Forensic Science with Minimum 50% marks from any University recognized by the UGC.
Criteria For Selection: The selection for the post shall be made on the basis of merit obtained in written examination only.
• Assistant Scientific Officer, Physics, Ballistics, Documents, Cyber Forensics: Masters Degree in Physics/Chemistry/ Computer Science/Forensic Science with Minimum 50% marks from any University recognized by the UGC.
Criteria For Selection: The selection for the post shall be made on the basis of merit obtained in written examination only.
• Driver: Matric and having Hill Driving License issued by the Licensing Authority of JK Govt.
