Central University of Kashmir | Employment Notification for the contractual engagement of Assistant Professors/Teaching Assistants 2021

Online Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Professors/Teaching Assistants on contractual basis in the following Departments. The interview shall be held at Central University of Kashmir, Green Campus, Ganderbal as per the below mentioned schedule and the reporting time of candidates for interview is 10:30 am. 

Note: 
1). Candidates figuring at lower merit/waiting list may be engaged as Teaching Assistants/Guest Teachers, subject to the requirement of Departments. 

2). The credentials of the applicants as mentioned in Table-I, shall be considered for selection. 

3). Eligibility of the above mentioned posts shall be as per UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education, 2018)/ AICTE Regulations-2019/ NCTE Regulations and their Amendments from time to time.

Qualifications and other Requirements for Teaching Positions in the Disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Journalism & Mass Communication & Physical Education (Except for the Departments of Teacher Education, Information Technology, Management Studies, B.Voc programme-Retail & Logistics Management & B.Voc programme-Tourism& Hospitality Management).

Assistant Professor/Teaching Assistant (Contractual) Eligibility : 

i) A Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET:

Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions:

a) The Ph.D degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode; 

b) The Ph.D thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners; 

c) An open Ph.D viva voce of the candidate has been conducted; 

d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D, work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal; 

e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conference/seminars sponsored /funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.

The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF TEACHER EDUCATION 

Assistant Professor/Teaching Assistant (Contractual) Eligibility: 

(i) A Master’s Degree in History / Geography/ Economics/Physical Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed),

(ii) B.Ed. degree with minimum fifty-five percent marks or equivalent grade.

(iii) National Eligibility Test or State Level Eligibility Test or Doctor of Philosophy in Education or in the concerned subject as prescribed by the University Grants Commission.

Desirable: 
(i) M.Ed. or M.Ed. with specialisation in Elementary Education 
(ii) Ph.D in Education.

DETAILS OF PAY, QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES

Assistant Professor/Teaching Assistant (Contractual) 
Eligibility: 

i). Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline and Master’s Degree in Business Administration/ PGDM/ C. A./ ICWA/ M. Com. with First Class or equivalent and two years of professional experience after acquiring the degree of Master’s degree.

ii). Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET:

Qualifications and other requirements for B.Voc programme (Retail & Logistic Management): 

Assistant Professor/Teaching Assistant (Contractual): 

Eligibility: 
i) Master’s degree in Commerce/Management with specialisation in Retail & Logistic Management or having studied Retail & Logistic Management at PG level with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the seven-point scale of UGC from a recognized University.

(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS: 

1. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.

2. The engagement to the post advertised is purely on contract basis and the selected candidates will not have any claim for the permanent appointment.

3. The application fee (non-refundable) shall be kept as Rs. 300 (Rs 150 for SC, ST, PwD). 

4. The engagement shall be for a period as deemed fit by the Authorities or till the alternative arrangements are made, whichever is earlier.

5. The applicants are informed to carry all the documents (in original) with them on the date of interview.

6. Candidates applying for the said posts shall provide complete details with regard to their academic qualifications, research publications, teaching/research experience etc supported by documentary evidence. These details shall be used for short-listing the candidates, if required and also for calculating the points for final selection.

7. All the relevant information/ updates shall be uploaded on University website. The candidates are advised to remain in-touch with the University website www.cukashmir.ac.in and notifying the same in newspapers shall not be obligatory on University part.

8. All updates to this advertisement including corrigendum, amendment, if any, will be hosted on the University website only and the candidates are advised to check the website periodically for updates.

9. A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed) at the Master‘s level shall be the essential qualification for direct recruitment of teachers and other equivalent cadres at any level.

10. Relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master‘s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes (OBC)(Non-creamy Layer)/Differently abled 
(a) Blindness and low vision; 
(b) Deaf and Hard of Hearing; 
(c) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and muscular dystrophy; 
(d) Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; 
(e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness) for the purpose of eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure.

11. Relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their Master‘s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

12. A relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55%, wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university, at the Master‘s level shall also be considered valid.

13. The reservation for the SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS candidates shall be as per the Govt of India norms. 

14. Candidates who have been awarded Ph.D/Masters/Bachelors degree from foreign Universities should enclose “Equivalence Certificate” issued by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, without which their degrees will not be considered.

15. The University reserves the right: 

a. To withdraw the advertisement either partly or wholly at any time without assigning any reason to this effect.

b. To fill or not to fill up some or all the posts advertised for any reasons whatsoever. 

c. To increase/decrease the number of posts at the time of selection and make appointments accordingly.

16. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for the interview. Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large and it is not feasible or convenient to interview all the candidates, the University at its discretion, may restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications / experience higher than the minimum prescribed for the post. The University, however, prefers candidate possessing higher qualifications and experience.

17. The process of selection shall be by a presentation/ interview or a combination thereof. 

18. The eligibility of candidates will be determined as on the last date fixed for receipt of Application Forms.

19. All certificates, which are not in either English or Hindi, need to be translated preferably to either English or Hindi and the same shall be self-attested.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: 
1. Before applying for a post, candidates are advised to satisfy themselves about their eligibility. 

2. The PWD candidates with less than 40% of relevant disability shall not be considered. 

3. Applications not accompanied by necessary supporting documents, self-attested copies of degree certificates/ marks sheets/experience certificate/category certificate (if applicable) issued by the competent authority and the incomplete applications shall be rejected summarily.

4. If the space provided in application form is insufficient, information may be given on a separate sheet duly signed by the candidate and the same may be attached with the application.

5. The University shall verify the antecedents/documents submitted by the candidates at the time of appointment or any time during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents /background and has suppressed the said information, his/her services shall be terminated forthwith.

HOW TO APPLY? 
The detailed eligibility conditions and online prescribed application form is available on the University website (www.cukashmir.ac.in). The application form along with payment of non-refundable application fee Rs. 300/- is to be submitted online. However, the candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD are required to pay only Rs. 150/-(N.R) as application fee. The candidates need to apply online only by or before 3rd January, 2022 and submit the hard copy of the form along with relevant documents (Qualification Certificates/Exp. Certificates/ Research Publications etc.) at Recruitment Section, Central University of Kashmir, Green Campus Ganderbal by or before 5th January, 2022. The interview schedule is already mentioned in this notice and the list of the eligible candidates shall be uploaded on the University website before the dated of interview. All the candidates in their own interest are required to keep in touch with the University website. No individual communication shall be made with any candidate.
