INDIAN SOLDIER KILLED IN CHINA BORDER CLASH

Amid the latest border confrontation between India-China on the southern bank of Pangong Tso, across the Line of Actual Control (LAC), an Indian soldier of Tibetan origin has reportedly been killed, according to AFP news agency’s talk with Namgyal Dolkar Lhagyari, a member of the Tibetan parliament in exile.

Although, neither India nor China has admitted to casualties.

On Tuesday, Namgyal Dolkar Lhagyari informed AFP news agency about a Tibetan-origin soldier being “martyred during the clash” on Saturday night. However, she did not identify the soldier by name.

This is the first reported death from two incidents occurring within 48 hours on the LAC, two months post a clash in Galwan Valley, Ladakh, that had resulted in the death of at least 20 Indian soldiers.

Namgyal also stated that another member of the Indian Special Frontier Force, which includes several Tibetans who resist China’s claim to their home region, was injured in the clash.

India and China have each accused the other of violating their territorial sovereignty by trying to cross their unofficial border in the Ladakh region in an attempt to gain territory.
