Kamila Mushtaq: Meet The KAS 2018 Topper
Srinagar : After the results of the KAS-2018 were out, the excited family is too busy. Relatives and friends are coming to congratulate the family for their daughter’s rare fait of topping the results of the KASS. She secured 1138.33 marks to top the list.
A resident of Karan Nagar in Srinagar, Kamila is the daughter of Malik Mushtaq Ahmad, a retired Government employee and Tasleema Mushtaq, a working government employee. Kamila said she instantly got busy in received congratulatory messages the movement The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) made the list of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2018 public.
Malik Kamila Mushtaq, 27, has pursued her Bachelors in technology from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar, in the civil engineering branch.
The administrative services’ prelims examination started in 2018, followed by the mains in 2019 and the interview in 2020. Kamila qualified the examination in the very first attempt.
“I was confident of myself that I would qualify the exam based on my performance in the mains and the interview,” Kamila said.
Till Tuesday evening, she was a teacher. Kamila was appointed a government school teacher last year. Currently, she is posted at the Boys Higher Secondary School, Zainakote.
“I used to teach mathematics to ninth and tenth graders. I was preparing for the exam while doing a job,” she said.
Initially, she said, she started preparing for the civil service examination in 2017 with her optional subject being anthropology.
Preparing for the examination needs motivation and hard work, which she had it all. Kamila emphasised that the exam certainly is difficult, but qualifying it is very much achievable for anyone who works hard and has the grit and determination to persevere in that direction.
“There are highs and lows in the preparation of this examination, but I was able to keep myself motivated by the grace of Allah and the support of my parents," Kamila said.
