"On August 5, 2019, the Indian government scrapped Article 370 and revoked Kashmir’s semi-autonomous status. Kashmir was forced into lockdown.
One year on, the people of Kashmir continue to live under curfew, and many are subjected to unspeakable torture every day".
"As Muslims, it is our duty to stand with the oppressed, regardless of their race, ethnicity or religion. We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Kashmir. India’s atrocities must cease" Dr Naik posted on his social media account.
"I'd just like to add it shouldn't just be Muslims duty to stand with the oppressed it should be everybody's duty", Claire Bidwell Spokesperson UKFM, tweeted on Dr Naik's post. "His post has had 55k likes in 3 hours. My hat is off to him", she added.
