  • CHSL examination is also known as 10+2 level examination. I think, on the basis of 10+2 or intermediate level CHSL examination is one of the best gateways to become a Central Government employee.
  • As per the heading, we all know the CHSL examination is conducted by SSC.

Let's talk about the post & pay scale under the CHSL examination. 
Lower Division Clerk (LDC) 
  •  Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Band-I  | Grade Pay RS.1900
  • Postal Assistant (PA)Shorting Assistant (SA): Pay Band -I  | Grade Pay Rs.2400
  • Data Entry Operator(DEO):  Pay Band-I  Grade Pay Rs.2400 
                            
ELIGIBILITY

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG:  The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO) in the Office of Comptroller and  Auditor General of India (C&AG):  12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

AGE LIMIT 

The age limit for the posts is 18-27 years.
 Permissible relaxation in Upper age limit for
 01    SC/ST 5 Yaers
 02 OBC     3 Years

NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP
 
 A candidate must be either a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962.

EXAMINATION PATTERN

The CHSL examination consists of three Tiers:-
Tier-I (Computer Based Examination-Objective Type):
 Reasoning        25     50
 General awareness. 25 50
 Mathematics 25 50
 English 25 50
Total Questions:100 
Total marks: 200 
NOTE: The exam duration will be 60 minutes.

NOTE :
The Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-II, III & IV.
There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Tier-II (Descriptive Paper)

Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in „Pen and Paper‟ Mode. 
The duration of the Descriptive Paper would be for one hour.
 The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and a Letter/ Application of approximately 150-200 words.

NOTE : (VERY IMPORTANT ) 

 The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33%.
The performance in Tier-II would be included for preparing merit.
 The paper will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Part paper written in Hindi and Part in English will be awarded zero marks.

Candidate must write his/ her correct Roll Number and affix signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression in the relevant columns in the Question Paper-cum-Answer Book failing which zero marks will be awarded.

Candidates are strictly advised not to write any personal identity e.g. name, Roll Number, Mobile Number, Address, etc inside the Answer Book. The candidates who fail to adhere to these instructions will be awarded zero marks.

Tier-III (Skill Test/ Typing Test)

I.  Data Entry Operator (DEO)  under(C&AG):

NOTE :

Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature
Backspace is allowed during the typing test. 
The candidate can make corrections in their test before the given time. 
 The Candidate should not exceed the errors to a certain percentage which is fixed by SSC.

There are no special characters in the typing test most of the time. But you should prepare yourself for special characters. 

The medium of the Typing Test will be Hindi and English. The candidates will have to opt for the medium of Typing Test (i.e. either Hindi or English) in the online Application Form.

 Document Verification (DV):

All the candidates qualified for Document Verification are required to appear for Document Verification along with the original documents.
i). Photo ID Proof
 (ID can be Aadhar/pan/DL/Passport etc.)
ii). Two passport size recent color photographs. 
Candidates will have to submit copies of various documents like:
i). Matriculation/ Secondary Certificate.
ii). Educational Qualification Certificate.
iii). Caste/ Category Certificate, if belongs to reserved categories.

Post Preferences:
 The Examination is being held for multiple posts for various Ministries/ Departments / Offices. Detailed options for various posts and Ministries/ Departments/ Offices will be taken from candidates either online or at the time of document verification. He/ she will not be considered for a post/ Ministry/ Department if he/ she has not indicated his/ her preference for it. 

Option confirmed at the time of Document Verification will be treated as final and will not be changed subsequently under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates are advised to be careful in the exercise of such options.

CHSL 2019 

As we know the CHSL 2019 Examination is going on. The Tier I CBT exam was scheduled from 20 March to 28 March 2020 has been postponed.

The exam was conducted only for first three days i,e 17, 18 & 19th March. As per the latest notice of SSC Tier 1 examination of CHSL 2019 will be conducted from 17th to 21st August and 24th to 27th August 2020 left over aspirants.
