CET Results: Brother tops, sister among top 20

Mir Wajid Majid, a boy from a remote village of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, topped the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2012 conducted by the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations. The results of the CET 2012 were declared here on Saturday selecting about 400 boys and girls for admission to various professional colleges across the state.
Son of Abdul Majid Mir, a paramedic working for the state’s health department, Wajid ranked top in the CET after scoring 208 points out 210. He appeared in the exams under Roll No. 131184.
Mir belongs to remote Wangam village of Anantnage district Kokernag Tehsil.
Wajid’s sister Danish Majid who appeared in the CET under Roll No. 123385 ranked 17 scored 197 out of 210 marks.
The duo’s father is working as a head Pharmacist in the state’s health and family welfare department.
Wajid, a student of HISTA higher secondary school Islamabad had earlier passed his 10th and 12th class examinations with distinctions scoring 428 and 628 marks respectively.
The siblings had failed to figure in the selection list in the first attempt, after appearing in the CET 2011.
